Artist Bio
Eric Southern
(Bio as of January 2020)
Eric Southern (Lighting Designer) is an OBIE award winning designer for theater, opera, and dance. Chicago credits includes Pipeline (Victory Gardens); The Fever (MCA); Echo Mine (Harris Theater); Buyer and Cellar (New York, London, Chicago, LA, National Tour). Recent New York projects include The Great Leap, Tell Hector I Miss Him (Atlantic Theater); After The Blast, Ghostlight, Bull in a China Shop, The Harvest (Lincoln Center); Sell/Buy/Date (MTC); Indian Summer, Pocatello (Playwrights Horizons); Collected Stories (Carnegie Hall). Eric has also designed projects with The Guthrie, Kennedy Center, Geffen Playhouse, Baltimore Center Stage, KC Rep, Dallas Theater Center, BAM, 600 HIGHWMEN, Susan Marshall Dance Company, Virginia Opera, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Williamstown Theater Festival and Wooly Mammoth among others. He is an assistant professor at Northwestern University and received his B.F.A. and M.F.A from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
