Artist Bio
Elizabeth Reiter
(Bio as of April 2003)
Elizabeth Reiter most recently appeared at the Goodman in Trojan Women during the 2002/2003 Season. Other Goodman credits include Young Maria Celeste in the world premiere production of the opera Galileo Galilei, directed by Mary Zimmerman, and at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (NY) and the Barbican Theatre (London UK). Most recently, she sang the role of Flora in Benjamin Britten’s The Turn of the Screw at Chicago Opera Theater. She has also appeared as Pepichek in Lookingglass Theatre’s Chicago premiere production of Hans Krasa’s children’s opera, Brundibar. As a member of the Children’s Chorus, she has sung in over 100 performances at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, including productions of La Bohème, La Gioconda, Mefistofele, Carmen, Queen of Spades, Tosca, Otello and Hänsel und Gretel (First Echo). She has also sung St. Matthew’s Passion with the Music of the Baroque, Carmina Burana with Chicago Sinfonietta and performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at the Ravinia Music Festival in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She has won numerous music awards, including several at Interlochen Arts Camp, as well as the Park Forest Singers High School Vocal Competition.
