Artist Bio
Dexter Bullard
(Bio as of October 2011)
Dexter Bullard most recently collaborated with the Goodman on Gas for Lessduring the 2007/2008 Season. He returns to the Goodman, where he previously directed Gas For Less, New Stages series readings of Vigils and The Long Red Road and a reading of Local Time:5-7am. His Chicago directing credits include Circle Mirror Transformation at Victory Gardens Theater, The Big Meal at American Theater Company, Odradek at The House Theatre, Mistakes Were Made at A Red Orchid Theatre, Grace at Northlight Theatre, Reverie at The Second City (also at Just For Laughs Montreal), Better Late Than Nader at The Second City E.T.C., as well as five years of productions, including the nine-time Jeff-cited Bouncers, at Next Theatre Company and Next Lab. For 16 years he has led the pioneer physical theater ensemble Plasticene, where he directed more than 12 original works. His off-Broadway credits include Mistakes Were Made and Bug at Barrow Street Theatre (Lucille Lortel Award and Drama Desk Award nomination) and Lady at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. Mr. Bullard is head of graduate acting at The Theatre School at DePaul University.
