Artist Bio
Deb Lewis
(Bio as of January 2022)
Deb R. Lewis is a teaching artist for Goodman Theatre’s Education and Community Engagement programs, and collaborates with 2ndStory as a company member, telling stories and helping others tell theirs. She’s served up stories for Fillet of Solo, Homolatte, and Gumbo Fiction Salon. Her honors include the Windy City Times Pride Literary Supplement Prose Prize, Top Three Finalist in the Project: Queer Lit novel competition, and a Pushcart nomination. Her work appears in many journals, including: Hypertext, Cellstories.net, Hyacinth Noir, Gertrude, Zahir, Café Irreal, The2ndHand, Blithe House Quarterly, Dyversity, and Bad Attitude. Her published work includes contributions to Briefly Knocked Unconscious by a Low-Flying Duck: A 2nd Story Anthology (Elephant Rock Books), Windy City Queer: LGBTQ Dispatches from the Third Coast (U of Wisconsin Press). Deb lives in Charleston, Illinois with her true love of twenty-six years and more cats than is probably decent. More info at: DebRLewis.me
