Artist Bio
Danielle Alvergia Hobbs
(Bio as of September 2005)
Danielle Alvergia Hobbs most recently appeared at the Goodman in Purlie during the 2005/2006 Season. Regional credits include Aida at Actor’s Playhouse on Miracle Mile and For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide at Fordham University Theatre. Independent film credits include For Da Love of Money, The Creation of EVE and When A Woman’s Fed Up. Ms. Hobbs has appeared in numerous music videos, including her role as assistant choreographer for Beyonce Knowles’ “Baby Boy.” She received a 1994 NAACP ACTSO national gold medal for dance in Chicago. Ms. Hobbs has written her first one-woman show, l Can Be What l Want to Be! A Celebration of Black History, which she performs for youth in non-profit organizations, as well as public and private schools.
