Artist Bio
Daniel Allar
(Bio as of November 2002)
Daniel Allar (1962-2009) appeared at the Goodman in A Christmas Carol during the 2002/2003 Season. His Chicago area credits included Lennie in Of Mice and Men at Organic Theatre; Owen Musser in The Foreigner and roles in Shenandoah and Me & My Girl at Drury Lane Oak Brook; The Cherry Orchard and An Ideal Husband at Court; Timon of Athens and Troilus and Cressida at Shakespeare Rep; Funny Money, Perfect Wedding, Treasure Island and Pinocchio at Drury Lane Evergreen Park; Banquo in Macbeth at First Folio Shakespeare Festival; 10 characters and a dog in Greater Tuna for MRT and Center Theatre; and Sam Byck in Assassins at Apple Tree. Mr. Altar also worked at Candlelight, Forum, Pheasant Run and touring Chicago area schools as John Hancock in 1776 with American Eagle Productions. He worked on radio doing voice-overs and as a news anchor, appeared in several independent films including Rooter in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer Part 2, Mask of Sanity, and appeared in two episodes of Early Edition (CBS) and one of What About Joan? (ABC). Before moving to Chicago, Mr. Allar worked at Bradley University in his hometown of Peoria, IL where he was the technical director and scene shop foreman for 5 years. Other backstage credits include set design and props design for Drury Lane Evergreen Park.
