Artist Bio
Courtney Shaughnessy
(Bio as of June 2001)
Courtney Shaughnessy most recently appeared at the Goodman in Wit during the 2000/2001 Season. Other Goodman credits include the role of Patty in Wendy MacLeod’s Schoolgirl Figure. She is one of four founding members and resident playwright of Serendipity Theatre Company, with which she was a contributing writer for their inaugural production of A.D.D.—Another Day of Distraction last summer. Other Chicago credits include Tina in the Steppenwolf’s workshop of Steven Froelich’s Weekend in Rio with Laurie Metcalf; Raunchy in Tim Norwind’s The Pratts, the Actress in La Ronde and Suzy in Poona the !*#! Dog with Trap Door; and Carrie in The Pirahna Tank for the Chicago New Plays Festival. She continues to write and work on voiceovers and will appear this summer in Weekend in Rio at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland.
