Colin Gagné

After graduating in electroacoustic composition from Université de Montréal, Colin Gagné first worked in the field of sound with Akousma, MUTEK, TNM, and Cirque Éloize.

In contemporary circus, as a long-time collaborator with The 7 fingers, he composed and produced the music for the productions Reversible, Passengers, Duel Reality, Vice & Vertu, Dear San Francisco, Mon île mon cœur, Riopelle: Grandeur Nature, and Géante. With Cirque du Soleil, he created the original music for Amora. Recently, with the collective People Watching, he made sounds and music for the show Play Dead.

For film, installation, and multimedia, he created the music and soundscape for outdoor multimedia experiences such as Forest of Shadows, Arbora Lumina and Anakeesata’s Firefly Experience, produced by Moment Factory,  for the exhibition Under Arctic Ice with Mario Cyr, and for the exhibition Shipwreks at Musée Maritime de Charlevoix.

In theatre, working with director Serge Denoncourt, he composed the soundtracks for de La nuit où Laurier Gaudreault s’est réveillé, and Edmond, and designed the sound for Bernadette de Lourdes.

Blending music, sound design, interactivity, theatricality, immersion, and technical design, he also creates interactive soundscapes for C2, composes for international events, for film, and designs sound for musical theatre.
