Artist Bio
Christopher Acebo
(Bio as of June 2004)
Christopher Acebo most recently collaborated with the Goodman on Electricidad during the 2003/2004 Season. He is a set and costume designer based in Los Angeles. He returns to the Goodman Theatre, where he designed the set for Zoot Suit, directed by Henry Godinez. Regionally, Mr. Acebo’s designs have been seen in the world premiere productions of Living Out by Lisa Loomer and Chavez Ravine by Culture Clash at Mark Taper Forum; Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner by Luis Alfaro at Mark Taper Forum, Taper Too; Black Butterfly, Jaguar Girl, Piñata Woman and Other Super Hero Girls, Like Me by Luis Alfaro at Mark Taper Forum, P.L.A.Y. and the Kennedy Center; and The Beard of Avon by Amy Freed, Hold Please by Annie Weisman, and California Scenarios at South Coast Repertory Theatre. Other regional credits include productions for The Guthrie Theater, Portland Center Stage, La Jolla Playhouse, The Children’s Theatre Company of Minneapolis, South Coast Rep, East West Players, The Pasadena Playhouse, Missouri Rep, Great Lakes Theatre Festival, San Diego Repertory Theatre, Sledgehammer and The Magic Theatre among others. Mr. Acebo is an ensemble member of the nationally acclaimed Los Angeles-based Cornerstone Theater Company. He received his MFA at the University of California, San Diego, and is a recipient of the prestigious NEA/TCG fellowship for designers (1999-2001). He is a member of the faculty at Cal State University, Los Angeles.
