Artist Bio

Bill Buford was born in 1954 in Baton Rouge and grew up in the San Fernando Val­ley. He attended the University of California­—Berkeley, and Kings College at Cambridge Univer­sity in England. Since 1979 he has edited the liter­ary magazine Granta. Among the Thugs was first published in 1990. His is currently the fiction editor for The New Yorker magazine.
