Artist Bio
Bess Frankel
(Bio as of August 2022)
Bess Frankel (Associate Director) makes her Goodman debut. New York assistant directing credits include ToasT (the Public Theater), Incident at Vichy (Signature Theater), SeaWife (Naked Angels), The Goat, or Who is Sylvia (Juilliard). As a playwright: Finalist for the Eugene O’Neill Playwrights Conference, Playwrights Realm Fellowship, Actors’ Theatre of Louisville Heideman Award, Jewish Plays Project, twice the Drama League’s Beatrice Terry Residency, twice the Columbia@Roundabout Reading Series. Co-Director and Head of Playwriting for CreateHER, a free theatre education program for female and non-binary high school students. Education: BFA in Theatre Directing, University of Michigan; MFA in Playwriting, Columbia University.
