Artist Bio

Ana Velazquez
Ana Velazquez (she/her) Mexican-American director and teaching artist from the South Side of Chicago. She has worked as a teaching artist with Goodman’s PlayBuild Youth Intensive summer program and Disney Musicals in Schools. She also teaches with TimeLine Theatre’s Living History education program and is a company member with PlayMakers Laboratory. Ana has led workshops for children and families in migrant shelters across the city with Once Upon Our Time Capsule. Additionally, she has taught in Indiana as part of the artist residency program We the Many with Arts Midwest and the Honeywell Foundation. She is an Artistic Affiliate with American Blues Theater and holds a BA in Theatre from UIC.
