Adrian Danzig

Adrian Danzig most recently appeared at the Goodman in Big Love during the 2001/2002 Season. He is an actor, director and clown. Adrian created and performs in 500 Clown Macbeth, which will return to Chicago this spring; produced City of Fools, Chicago’s Clown Theater Festival; and has worked with Joanne Akalaitis, Anne Bogart, Yvonne Rainer, Bernie Sahlins, Bread and Puppet Theater, Shakespeare & Company, the Neo-Futurists, Midnight Circus and Redmoon Theater, of which he was a founding member. Adrian has performed his solo works at many venues in New York and Chicago, including The Kitchen, P.S. 122, The Ontological Hysteric Theater, Soho Rep, The Lunar Cabaret, and Bailiwick. He has performed at the Goodman in ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore; with Lookingglass Theater Company in Metamorphoses (Chicago and San Francisco) and as the Baron in Baron in the Trees; as Quasimodo in Hunchback with Redmoon Theatre at Steppenwolf Studio and The Joseph Papp Public Theater; and at Gnuyak Studio in Murke’s Collected Silences and as ringmaster Marco Poyo in Le Cirque Noir. He now teaches at Roosevelt University, and is a clown with the Big Apple Circus Clown Care Unit at the University of Chicago Children’s Hospital and at La Rabida Children’s Hospital.
