ENGAGE & LEARN
Education and Engagement for All.
At the Goodman we believe in using the art of theater to help build a better Chicago.
We are dedicated to developing generations of citizens who are both empathetic and informed — individuals who understand and appreciate the cultures and stories of diverse voices and who recognize the importance of community.
In partnership with schools, we focus on professional development for teachers, enhancing their ability to activate student learning. For young people and adults, we explore the power of storytelling to celebrate authentic voices, sparking conversations about lived experiences and shared identities. With families, we use artmaking experiences to illuminate all that is possible in the world, no matter who you are.
Our commitment to using theater in service of social change is a core principle, reflecting Goodman Theatre’s vision and values as a cultural and community organization dedicated to quality, diversity, and community.
