The Goodman is always looking for new talent for our stages. Auditions for our production season are by invitation; however, we invite all interested actors to submit their materials via the form below for our internal database. You may also use the form below to submit for a specific show and/or role within the season. See details below!
General Auditions
Goodman Theatre is once again holding Non-Equity General Auditions!
Every season, we take the opportunity to get to know this community even more deeply. Please read the information below for instructions on how to submit yourself for consideration. Please only submit if you: 1) are based in Chicago 2) are not a member of AEA 3) have not auditioned for Goodman Casting in the past calendar year.
Selected actors will be invited to attend in-person general auditions on January 26th or January 29th, 2026, where they can present up to two minutes of material of their choosing.

Please note that if you submitted for Non-Equity Generals in 2024 but were not selected for an audition, your materials are still on file and will be considered for these upcoming sessions.
Based on actor submissions, we likely will not be able to accommodate everyone. Please know that we review all submissions and if we aren’t able to meet you this round, there will be more opportunities in the future.
EQUITY ACTORS (MEMBERS OF ACTORS’ EQUITY ASSOCIATION)
Equity Principal Auditions are held each spring in Chicago following the announcement of our season. Once announced, interested AEA actors can either make an appointment online or can sign up in person day of. Please take note that the Goodman does not schedule appointments; all appointments are scheduled though the Equity office.
NON EQUITY ACTORS
We always see Non-Equity actors if time allows during our Seasonal EPA. Non-Equity actors (both EMC members and Non-Equity) must sign in person day of with the AEA monitor.
Additionally – we hold general auditions to meet local Non-Equity actors yearly. More information about those auditions can be found on this page as updates are available.
