Alka Nayyar makes her Goodman debut. Her work includes Jeff-nominated choreography for Prop and Rasaka Theatre Company’s The Masrayana, Silk Road Rising’s Merchant on Venice, Vitalist Theatre’s A Passage to India, the Chicago Cultural Center’s summer opera Djamileh, Halcyon Theatre’s Haroun and the Sea of Stories, Lifeline Theatre’s The Piano Tuner, Remy Bumppo Theatre Company’s thinkTank: An Immigrant Class and thinkTank: American Ethnic, Stage Left Theatre’s LeapFest: Thirst, Theatre-Hikes’ Around the World in 80 Days, Porchlight Music Theatre’s Pacific Overtures, Rasaka Theatre Company’s Yoni Ki Baat, the Chicago Humanities Festival’s A Night at the Oscars and After Dark at the Art Institute of Chicago with Collaboraction. Ms. Nayyar teaches dance through her organization Chitrahar at the Old Town School of Folk Music and the Menomonee Club, and is a communications professional with a BA in Linguistics from the University of Chicago.
