In conjunction with the Goodman’s world premiere production of Charles Smith’s Objects in the Mirror, we are pleased to present a free staged reading of Pudd'nhead Wilson, adapted by Smith from Mark Twain's 1894 novel. This pre-Civil War story follows Judge Driscoll's two sons, one the child of his wife and the other the child of his house slave, Roxy. Langston Hughes called the ironic and tragic Pudd’nhead Wilson a "tribute to Mark Twain’s understanding of human character [and his belief that] color is only skin deep."
