Goodman Theatre is proud to present a one-night-only reading of the new play 8 by Academy Award winner Dustin Lance Black (Milk). This riveting docudrama chronicles the landmark Perry v. Schwarzenegger case (now called Hollingsworth v. Perry) filed by the American Foundation for Equal Rights to overturn California’s Proposition 8—the constitutional amendment adopted to deny gay and lesbian couples the right to marry.
With an all-Chicago cast and a post-performance panel featuring special guests, this event promises to be an insightful and powerful look at the fight for equal rights.
8 is produced in association with the American Foundation for Equal Rights and Broadway Impact.
