Marc Rosich

Marc Rosich most recently collaborated with the Goodman on Camino Real during the 2011/2012 Season. He is a Catalan playwright based in Barcelona. His most recent works include Rive Gauche at Barcelona’s Sala Muntaner (Butaca Awards Best New Play nomination, 2011); Car Wash at Staatstheater Stuttgart and Barcelona’s Teatre Romea; N&N and Party Line at Barcelona’s Sala Beckett; Surabaya at Teatre Romea (Romea Foundation Award For New Plays finalist, 2004) and Copi and Ocaña at Barcelona’s Teatre Tantarantana. In collaboration with director Calixto Bieito, he has adapted Pedro Calderón de la Barca’s The Great Theater of the World (Theater Freiburg), Voices (Betty Nansen Treatret, Copenhagen and the Bergen Festival), Friedrich Schiller’s Don Carlos (CDN Madrid, Mannheim Schillertage), Tirant lo Blanc at Berlin’s Hebbel am Ufer, Schauspiel Frankfurt, and Teatre Romea (2008; Barcelona Critics’ Award, Best Adaptation; Max Awards Best Adaptation nominee) and Michel Houellebecq’s Platform at the Edinburgh Festival and Teatre Romea (2007; Max Awards Best Adaptation nominee). Other adaptations include Falstaff at Madrid’s Centro Dramatico Nacional; Mequinensa, Mort de dama (2010; Escènica Award for Best Adaptation) and Pedra de tartera at Barcelona’s Teatre Nacional de Catalunya; and Homer’s Odyssey at Barcelona Summer Festival, Temporada Alta Festival, and Perpignan’s Théâtre de l’Archipel. As an opera librettist, his works include Java Suite at Òpera de Butxaca, Nova Creació, the Peralada Festival and Theater Basel; Lord Byron (Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Staatstheater Darmstadt) and La Cuzzoni (L’Auditori Barcelona, Staatstheater Darsmtadt). Mr. Rosich studied journalism and translation at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and playwriting at Sala Beckett, where he currently teaches.
