John Steven Crowley

John Steven Crowley most recently appeared at the Goodman in Ain’t Misbehavin’ during the 2007/2008 Season. Other Goodman credits include Crumbs From the Table of Joy, Crowns, The Amen Corner and A Christmas Carol. Most recent Chicago credits include Honus and Me with Chicago Children’s Theatre and Gee’s Bend directed by Chuck Smith at Northlight Theatre. Regional credits include work at San Diego Repertory Theatre, Alliance Theatre, Arena Stage, Huntington Theatre Company and Hartford Stage. Favorite productions include Doo Wop Shoo Bop (Jeff Award), Crowns (Helen Hayes Nomination), Fences, Ain’t Misbehavin’ (Jeff Award) and Elvis Presley was a Black Man (Jeff Award). He has worked with such directors as Sean Graney, Eric Rosen, Henry Godinez, Todd Booth, Marc Robin, Dr. Ralph Green, Regina Taylor, Ron OJ Parson and Peter Chatman and is the recipient of three Jeff Awards and one Black Theatre Alliance Award. Mr. Crowley received his theatrical training at the old Loop College (now Harold Washington College), where he performed in Of Mice and Men directed by Ricardo Guttierez.
