Brendan Coyle

Brendan Coyle most recently appeared in The Price, which will transfer to the West End in February (Theatre Royal Bath), Mojo (Harold Pinter Theatre), The Silver Tassie (Almeida Theatre) and Buried Child (National Theatre, London). Coyle also starred in the original production of The Weir at the Royal Court Theatre, in the West End and on Broadway, winning both the Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actor and the New York Critics’ Circle Award for Outstanding Broadway Debut. On screen, he is most recognized for playing Mr. Bates in Downton Abbey (ITV), for which he won three Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Ensemble and received Emmy, BAFTA and IFTA nominations for Best Supporting Actor; and for playing Robert Timmins in Lark Rise to Candleford (BBC). Recent television credits include Requiem (BBC/Netflix) and Spotless (Netflix). Coyle’s recent film credits include the upcoming feature Mary Queen of Scots directed by Josie Rourke, Unless and Me Before You.

Greta anchors weekends and hosts WBEZ’s Nerdette Podcast, where she’s interviewed authors, astronauts, and other super smart people. Prior to joining WBEZ in 2014. Greta hosted Morning Edition at WCQS in Asheville, North Carolina and at KUAC in Fairbanks, Alaska. Greta has a BA in English from Saint Olaf College and a MS in Journalism from Northwestern University. In her free time, Greta enjoys reading, knitting, and walking her corgi.
