Suzan-Lori Parks is widely considered to be one of the most prolific writers of our time, yet her status as produced playwright in the city of Chicago is still rather unknown. The Goodman invites you to a discussion featuring Artistic Director of the Flea Theater and Father Comes Home From the Wars director Niegel Smith expounding on themes found in Parks’ works relating to the Black experience.

Niegel Smith (Director of Father Comes Home From the Wars, Artistic Director of The Flea Theater). Niegel Smith is a Bessie Award-winning theater director and performance artist. He is the artistic director of New York’s The Flea; board member of A.R.T./New York and ringleader of Willing Participant, an artistic activist organization.
