Support Us Between Acts.
We hope that you, your family and all who are close to you are safe and well during these unprecedented times. All of us are experiencing an "intermission" we never could have imagined—or predicted. With performances and rehearsals suspended, the Goodman’s doors are closed to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
Yet, despite this crisis, our artists and staff have been continuing to communicate with our audiences through virtual means. We have offered more than 6,000 people access to a streamed production of School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play, while our students—aged 8 to 88—engage in virtual classrooms. We will continue to stay connected with you throughout this time of isolation.
Productions at the Goodman will eventually resume with the quality and variety that you have come to expect—but we do need your help. We estimate that the suspension of performances will lead to a minimum of $3.5 million in lost sales revenue.
We've launched the Goodman’s Intermission Campaign, with a goal of $1 million in new support of the artists, artisans, crew and staff who now find themselves waiting to resume their work for you. We are asking you, if you are able, to make a gift to this campaign. Each gift will be matched 1:1 by Goodman Theatre’s board members.
We are deeply grateful for your belief in the Goodman’s work on stage and in our community. You have enabled us to produce extraordinary productions and provide invaluable programs to youth. When we have the ability to create theater on our stages again, we will remember and treasure its power to make us laugh, to make connections and most importantly, to experience life together.
Thank you for your consideration. We can’t wait to be with you for Goodman Theatre’s next act.
