As the weather gets warmer, everyone here at Goodman Theatre sees a hopeful light at the end of the tunnel!
This spring and summer, we're encouraging patrons and donors to Go Play, reflecting the optimism we feel about the future of live theatre and the productions and programs we have in store for you.
In our Owen Theatre Live series, we are excited to broadcast timely, thoughtful work which audiences can view in real time from the comfort of their homes. And, our wildly successful Future Labs series of staged readings to showcase the work of emerging BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) playwrights is ongoing.
This summer our virtual programming for high school-aged participants begins: Alone Together: A Solo Voices Project, Strike! The Youth Political Theater Project, and a playwriting class with Alex Lubischer entitled The Best Part. We are also continuing our long-standing personal narrative program for older adults, GeNarrations, as well as InterGens, which encourages cross-generational dialogue and creative expression.
We hope you will consider making a gift in support of our spring and summer productions and programming. The care and consideration of our loyal audience has been a vital resource as we navigate a challenging period.
In the coming weeks, you will hear more from us about these exciting online productions and programs, as we wait in anticipation of the not-so-distant day when we may reopen our doors on Dearborn Street. Until then, we invite you to Go Play with us!
