Moisés Kaufman

Moisés Kaufman most recently collaborated with the Goodman on I Am My Own Wife during the 2004/2005 Season. He made his Broadway directing debut with I Am My Own Wife. It is the winner of the Tony Award for best play and best actor (Jefferson Mays) as well as the 2004 Pulitzer Prize winner for drama. Mr. Kaufman is an award-winning playwright and director whose plays Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde and The Laramie Project have been among the most performed plays in America over the last decade. He also directed the film adaptation of The Laramie Project, which aired on HBO. The film’s cast included Peter Fonda, Laura Linney, Christina Ricci and Steve Buscemi, among others. The Laramie Project was the opening night selection at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival, and won a special mention for best film at the Berlin Film Festival. Mr. Kaufman recevied two Emmy Award nominations for best director and best writer. Other directing credits include Women in Becket, Machinal, In the Winter of Cities and The Nest. Mr. Kaufman is the recepient of a Guggenheim Fellowship.
