Rebeca Alemán

Rebeca Alemán (U/S Amalia/Soyla) is a theater & TV award-winning actor, writer, and producer. Previous Chicago credits include: the critically acclaimed The Delicate Tears of the Waning Moon, Muses, and The Worst of All, productions invited to open the first three editions of the Chicago International Latino Theater Festival at Steppenwolf Theatre and the National Museum of Mexican Art. Rebeca has played leading roles in over thirty-five theater productions, soap operas, and films, including those as Sor Juana Inés De La Cruz, Frida Kahlo, Adela, and Camila O’Gorman. New York City credits include Yerma, The House of Bernarda Alba, She looks White, Antigona, Chronicle of a death foretold, and Lorca Alma Presente (Repertorio Español, NYC). TV/Film credits include Gone with the Sea (WPT), Solo (Unity Films); Todo lo que Sube (Plenilunio Film – Goya Award winning Director, Miguel Ferrari); Por Estas Calles (Radio Caracas TV and Marte TV), and Sucre (Avila Films), among others. @rebecaaleman

 

Born and raised in Venezuela, Rebeca received a B.A. in Journalism and Media Communication from La Universidad Central de Venezuela and a B.A. in Music-Pianist from the National School of Music, Caracas, Venezuela. Rebeca is the Founder and Executive Director of Water People Theater.
