Cecilia Suárez

Cecilia Suárez most recently appeared at the Goodman in Electricidad during the 2003/2004 Season. She returns to the Windy City, once her home, where she worked at the Goodman in A Christmas Carol directed by Henry Godinez. Other Chicago credits include Santos & Santos directed by Henry Godinez for Teatro Vista, where she is an ensemble member; Everyman directed by Frank Galati, and The Crucible directed by Bob Breuler and Suzi Petri at Steppenwolf.  Mexico credits include Santos & Santos (which she also co-produced) directed by her sister, Mafer Suárez; and El Diccionario Sentimental and Popcorn, both directed by Mario Espinoza. Film credits include Spanglish directed by James L. Brooks; Puños Rosas directed by Beto Gomez (both to be released this year); Sin Ton Ni Sonia; Fidel; Dreaming of Julia; Todo el Poder; Sexo, Pudor y Lagrimas; Wash & Wear; Table Dance; and Charros.  TV credits include Lifetime’s For the People and Todo Por Amor for Television Azteca. Miss Suárez graduated from Illinois State University, from which she received the Jean Scharfenberg Acting Award.  She also received the National Critics Award in Mexico for Best Comedy Actress for her performance of Scout in Popcorn.
