Carmen Roman

Carmen Roman most recently appeared at the Goodman in Wit during the 2000/2001 Season. Previous Goodman credits include A Christmas Carol, directed by Steve Scott; and A Flea in Her Ear, Black Snow and Brutality of Fact, directed by Michael Maggio. Ms. Roman is a company member at American The­ater Company, where she played Medea in a new translation by Nick Rudall last season. She most recently played Boo in the long-running production of The Last Night of Ballyhoo at the Mercury Theater. She appeared off-Broadway in the JoAnne Akalaitis production of The Iphigenia Cycle, which originated at Court Theatre. She received the Sarah Siddons Award and the Jeff Award for her portrayal of Maria Callas in Master Class at Northlight Theatre. Favorite productions include Black Snow, Angels in America (Royal George Theatre and the national tour), Side Man (Steppenwolf Theatre and the Galway Festival, Ireland) and Shadowlands (Alliance Theatre, Atlanta, Georgia). Film and televi­sion credits include Snow White, The Falcon (Palmer/Fenster Productions and Georgia Telefilm, USSR), Marilyn (short feature) and Early Edition. She is a graduate of UCLA, where she received the Florence Herscher Award for theatrical achievement.
