Alan Cox

Alan Cox most recently appeared at the Goodman in Passion Play: a cycle in three parts during the 2007/2008 Season. He made his Broadway debut as Owen in Translations for Manhattan Theatre Club at the Biltmore which originated at McCarter Theatre in Princeton, New Jersey. His work in the U.K. includes seasons at the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Chichester Festival Theatre. He made his West End debut in Strange Interlude, and recent appearances include The Creeper and The Importance of Being Earnest. Off West-End he appeared in the London premieres of The Earthly Paradise, The Flu Season, The Rubenstein Kiss and Passion Play. He also played Tom Broadbent in John Bull’s Other Island at the Lyric Theatre Belfast and toured with Howard Barker’s Wrestling School in The Fence in its Thousandth Year. His film work includes August, The Speed of Thought, The Auteur Theory, Mrs. Dalloway, An Awfully Big Adventure and Young Sherlock Holmes. Television credits include Not Only But Always, Housewife 49 and John Adams (HBO).
