David Woolley

David Woolley has previously staged fights at the Goodman for Sweet Bird of Youth, Edmond, The Time of Your Life, A Flea in Her Ear, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Zoot SuitFish Men, Santos y Santos and Massacre (Sing to Your Children). Recent choreography credits include Hamlet and A Streetcar Named Desire (for director David Cromer) at Writers’ Theatre; Disgraced at American Theater Company and Superior Donuts at Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. (Jeff nominated). He is the recipient of two Jeff awards for Fight Direction (2010, The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity; 1989, consistent excellence in combat choreography). He is a fight master with the Society of American Fight Directors and is a senior lecturer at Columbia College of Chicago, coordinating the stage combat program, teaching stage combat for the actor and overseeing the new stage combat minor and violence for their season of plays. He will be performing as Guido in his 24th season in Dirk & Guido: the Swordsmen! at the Bristol Renaissance Faire.
