Harvey Young, co-author of Black Theater is Black Life: An Oral History of Chicago Theater and Dance, 1970-2010, leads a fascinating, lively discussion with Goodman Theatre Resident Director Chuck Smith and others focusing on Chicago’s rich history of African American performing arts and how contemporary artists are engaging local communities today.
This is the inaugural event in the Chuck Smith Lecture Series on Race, Theater and Culture which is a partnership with the Chicago Public Library.
