THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT. A LIMITED NUMBER OF TICKETS MAY BE AVAILABLE AT THE BOX OFFICE ON A FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED BASIS. Chicago theater luminaries Roche Schulfer (Goodman Theatre Executive Director) and economist James Annable (Goodman Theatre Life Trustee and Past Board of Trustees Chair) pull back the curtain on the American theater industry. Discover the little-known evolution of the not-for-profit theater and how the Goodman’s status as a not-for-profit has allowed the theater to make such a positive impact in Chicago. Theater lovers, professionals and patrons will all enjoy this lively presentation, which will also include complimentary wine and beer.
Roche Schulfer is in his 37th season as executive director of Goodman Theatre. During his tenure, he has overseen more than 335 productions, including nearly 130 world premieres, and launched the Goodman’s annual production of A Christmas Carol.
James Annable has taught at MIT, served as a senior economist at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, held a senior position at the Congressional Budget Office Chief Economist and as a member of the Management Committee of First Chicago. From 1994 to 2014, he served as Permanent Secretary of the Federal Advisory Council and is currently a director of Kemper Insurance, where he has chaired the compensation committee for more than a decade.
