Megan Monaghan

Megan Monaghan most recently collaborated with the Goodman on Crowns during the 2003/2004 Season. She is the Alliance Theatre’s literary director, director of new play development and production dramaturg for Pacific Overtures, Shakespeare’s R&J, Frame 312, The Game of Love and Chance, Sleepwalkers, Woody Guthrie’s American Song and The Bench. Previously, she was the director of playwright services at The Playwrights’ Center in Minneapolis and director of new play development at Frontera at Hyde Park Theatre in Austin, Texas. She has served as a panelist for TCG, Austin ScriptWorks, the O’Neill National Playwrights Conference, 3 Legged Race Performance Company, Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and as a guest teacher for the Yale School of Drama, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Iowa and Kennesaw State University. She holds an M.F.A. in directing from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. from Emory University. A 2002 co-winner of the Elliott Hayes Prize in dramaturgy, she serves on the Board of the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas (LMDA).
