Brian MacDevitt

Brian MacDevitt most recently collaborated with the Goodman on Chinglish during the 2010/2011 Season. Mr. MacDevitt’s previous design credits at the Goodman include The Visit and Long Day’s Journey into Night. His other Chicago credits include Morning Star at Steppenwolf Theatre Company and Angels in America at Royal George Theatre. Recent New York credits include Le Comte Ory at the Metropolitan Opera; The Book of Mormon; The House of Blue Leaves; Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown; Fences; A Behanding in Spokane; Race; Brighton Beach Memoirs and Joe Turner’s Come and Gone (Tony Award). Additional credits include The Three Sisters at the Abbey Theatre, The Color Purple, Urinetown and Into the Woods. Dance credits include designs for The Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Tere O’Connor Dance, Merce Cunningham Dance Company, Lar Lubovitch Dance Company and Nancy Bannon. He has received Tony, Obie, Bessie, Outer Critics Circle, Henry Hewes Design and Drama Desk awards, and his film credits include Cradle Will Rock. Mr. MacDevitt is a member of Naked Angels, and a faculty member of the University of Maryland.
