Nathan Lane has appeared in 17 Broadway shows since 1982, beginning with Present Laughter, starring George C. Scott, followed by Merlin, Wind in the Willows, Some Americans Abroad, On Borrowed Time, Guys and Dolls, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Love! Valour! Compassion!, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Man Who Came to Dinner, The Producers, The Frogs, The Odd Couple, Butley, November, Waiting for Godot and The Addams Family. Off-Broadway credits include Dedication or The Stuff of Dreams, Trumbo, Measure for Measure, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Luv the Musical, She Stoops to Conquer, The Common Pursuit, The Film Society, Mizlansky/Zilinsky or Schmucks, In a Pig’s Valise, The Lisbon Traviata, Bad Habits, Love! Valour! Compassion!, Do Re Mi and Lips Together, Teeth Apart. He has received two Tony awards, five Drama Desk awards, four Outer Critics Circle awards, two Obie awards, the Lucille Lortel Award, the St. Clair Bayfield Award and in London, the Olivier Award. For his work on television, he has received six Emmy nominations, most recently for Modern Family, and has won two Emmy awards and a People’s Choice Award. He has made more than 35 films, including The Birdcage (Golden Globe nomination, Screen Actors Guild and American Comedy awards), Ironweed, Frankie and Johnny, Mousehunt, Jeffrey, The Lion King, Stuart Little, Nicholas Nickleby (National Board of Review Ensemble Acting Award), The Producers (Golden Globe nomination) Swing Vote and The English Teacher. In 2006, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and in 2008 he was inducted into the American Theatre Hall of Fame.
