LARRY YANDO CAST AS SCROOGE IN 30TH ANNIVERSARY PRODUCTION OF A CHRISTMAS CAROL
(Chicago, IL) Veteran Chicago actor Larry Yando will don the whiskers and furrowed brow of the irascible Ebenezer Scrooge in Goodman Theatre's 30th Anniversary production of the perennial favorite, A Christmas Carol. Yando is the seventh actor to take on the role since the Goodman's first production in 1978.
A Christmas Carol marks Yando's Goodman debut. This fall he opens Chicago Shakespeare Theater's season in the title role in Cymbeline. Recently Yando played Scar in the national touring production of Lion King, as well as Steppenwolf's 2001 production Mother Courage and numerous productions at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, including the title role in Henry IV (Parts One and Two). He has also performed at Court Theatre, Apple Tree Theatre, Victory Gardens, Royal George Theatre, Pegasus Players, Writers' Theatre, Marriott Lincolnshire, Milwaukee Repertory, Madison Repertory, and Southwest Repertory. Yando is a graduate of the Goodman School of Drama and holds a BFA from Boston Conservatory of Music. He is currently an Advanced Acting professor at the Theatre School at DePaul.
A Christmas Carol begins performances on November 16 and runs through December 29; opening night is November 25.
