GOODMAN THEATRE EXTENDS DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS THROUGH MARCH 1
***EIGHT PERFORMANCES ADDED TO CENTERPIECE OF GLOBAL EXPLORATION
DUE TO OVERWHELMING DEMAND FOR TICKETS***
(January 21, 2009 - Chicago, IL) While still only in previews, Goodman Theatre extends Desire Under the Elms, the centerpiece of the Goodman's landmark theatrical event, "A Global Exploration: Eugene O'Neill in the 21st Century," due to an overwhelming demand for tickets. Directed by Artistic Director Robert Falls, Desire Under the Elms begans previews January 17 with performances now scheduled through March 1 in the Goodman's 856-seat Albert Ivar Theatre. Falls' cast includes stage and screen stars Brian Dennehy (Goodman's Death of a Salesman, Long Day's Journey Into Night), Carla Gugino (Entourage, Spy Kids, Sin City) Pablo Schreiber (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Awake and Sing!), Boris McGiver (The Wire) and Daniel Stewart Sherman (Broadway's Cyrano de Bergerac).
Casting note: Carla Gugino's final performance as Abby in Desire Under the Elms will be February 17 at 7:30pm. Her replacement for the final weeks of the run will be announced shortly.
