General Theater Studies Program
Goodman's General Theater Studies program is a six-week intensive introduction to theater arts offered exclusively to Chicago public school students. With a focus on literacy and creative writing, the summer program is designed to validate the voices of its participants, get them to examine their own potential for creativity, and introduce them to all elements of theater, both artistic and administrative. Utilizing aspects of character, conflict and storytelling while simultaneously exploring aspects of production design, this ensemble-building program culminates in original short plays through which students learn how each of us contribute to the human drama.
Admission to the program is by application and interview. Applications will be available in March 2008.
