Auditions
Goodman Theatre does not have a resident or repertory company of actors and is always looking for new talent. While auditions for specific productions throughout the season are by invitation only, Goodman holds general auditions each year.
General Auditions:
Equity Actors (members of Actors' Equity Association)
Equity Auditions are held each spring in Chicago and often in New York. Once Equity general audition dates have been announced, you can either make an appointment in person at the Equity Office or call the Chicago Equity audition hotline. Please take note that the Goodman does not schedule appointments. All appointments are scheduled though the Equity office.
Non-Equity Actors (non-members of Actors' Equity Association)
Electronic submissions must be formatted correctly in order to be considered. Both your resume and picture should be either in a Word or a PDF format as one attachment (we prefer headshots to be 300 dpi) and your name must appear on your picture. Requests should be sent to casting@goodmantheatre.org, with a valid email address, for the purposes of correspondence. The email will be considered as the cover letter, so please do not attach a separate letter.
Requests will be accepted between March 15 and April 25 of each year for the upcoming season. Early or late requests will not be considered and we ask that you do not call the Goodman to schedule an audition. We will review all requests received within the submission dates and contact you if we would like to set up an audition. Unfortunately, we usually receive more submissions than we have slots; if it happens that you are not among the few selected, we encourage you to submit again the following year.
Submissions for a Particular Production:
In Town Actors:
If you are interested in a particular production please do let us know by submitting your headshot, resume, and letter of interest. Please specify the show and role, and post to the attention of Adam Belcuore, Casting Director, and we will be happy to review and consider your request. You may send these by mail or electronically. Electronic submissions must be formatted correctly in order to be considered. Both your resume and picture should be either in a Word or a PDF format as one attachment (we prefer headshots to be 300 dpi), and your name must appear on your picture. Requests should be sent to casting@goodmantheatre.org, with a valid email address, for the purposes of correspondence.
Out of Town Actors:
The Goodman holds out-of-town auditions very infrequently, and the need for actors outside the Chicago area depends specifically upon the demands of each individual production. While auditions held outside the Chicago area are also by invitation only, if you are interested in a particular production please do let us know by submitting your headshot, resume and letter of interest specifying the show and role to the attention of Adam Belcuore, Casting Director, and we will be happy to review and consider your request.
