Equity Actors (members of Actors' Equity Association)
Equity Auditions are held each spring in Chicago and often in New York. Once Equity general audition dates have been announced, you can either make an appointment in person at the Equity Office or call the Chicago Equity audition hotline. Please take note that the Goodman does not schedule appointments. All appointments are scheduled though the Equity office.
Non-Equity Actors (non-members of Actors' Equity Association)
Electronic submissions must be formatted correctly in order to be considered. Both your resume and picture should be either in a Word or a PDF format as one attachment (we prefer headshots to be 300 dpi) and your name must appear on your picture. Requests should be sent to GoodmanSelfSubmissions@Gmail.com, with a valid email address, for the purposes of correspondence. The email will be considered as the cover letter, so please do not attach a separate letter. NOTE: Submissions sent to casting@goodmantheatre.org will be disregarded.
Requests will be accepted between March 15 and April 25 of each year for the upcoming season. Early or late requests will not be considered and we ask that you do not call the Goodman to schedule an audition. We will review all requests received within the submission dates and contact you if we would like to set up an audition. Unfortunately, we usually receive more submissions than we have slots; if it happens that you are not among the few selected, we encourage you to submit again the following year.
