Tania Richard previously appeared at the Goodman in A Christmas Carol last season and in By the Music of the Spheres in the 2002/2003 Season. She has appeared on Broadway in Steppenwolf Theatre Company’s production of The Song of Jacob Zulu. Other Steppenwolf credits include The Song of Jacob Zulu (Festival of Perth), Everyman (A Moral Play) and Nomathemba (Hope), which also premiered at Crossroads Theatre Company and The Kennedy Center. She appeared in The Second City’s productions of Old Wine in New BottlesSlaughterhouse 5, Cattle 0; Brother, Can You Spare Some Change? and Studs Terkel’s Not Working, and was also a member of The Second City Touring Company. At Chicago Dramatists she appeared in the world premieres of Voyeurs de Venus (Black Theater Alliance Award nomination) and Blue Glass Paper. Additional credits include The People’s Temple with American Theater Company; Blues for an Alabama Sky and Valley Song at Portland Center Stage (Drammy Award nomination); Not Without Laughter at Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis; Shear Madness with Cranberry Productions and Eleven Rooms of Proust with Lookingglass Theatre Company and About Face Theatre. She is a resident playwright and associate artist at Chicago Dramatists. Her award-winning plays include Happy.Go.Lucky and Selecting Memory. Ms. Richard wrote and performed her solo show, Truth Be Told, at Fleetwood Jourdain Theatre. Her film and television credits include Early Edition and Love and Action in Chicago and commercials for AARP, Sears and AT&T.
