Jeffrey Baumgartner

Jeffrey Baumgartner most recently appeared at the Goodman in Oedipus Complex during the 2006/2007 Season. Other Goodman credits include King Lear. Regional credits include The Three Muske­teers and King John (Chicago Shakespeare Theater); Man of la Mancha (Court Theatre); The Spitfire Grill (Provision Theatre); Betrayal (Athenae­um Theatre); Art (Bohemian Theatre); The Mousetrap and The Play’s the Thing (Theatre Building); Einstein and the Polar Bear (University of Il­linois Sumrner Studio); and What the Butler Saw, Arms and the Man, The Seagull, I Hate Hamlet, The Crucible, The Tempest, and the titular roles in Vincent, Macbeth and Hamlet. Steppenwolf credits include Leonid Gaev in The Cherry Orchard and fight director for the world premieres of Pacific, Huck Finn and A Blameless Life. He is producing artistic director of Cap-a-pe Productions, having served as artistic director of Borealis Theatre Company and Fox Valley Shakespeare Festival for 15 seasons, as well as providing the national voice for Releev. A graduate of the National Theatre Conservatory, where he received an MFA in acting, Mr. Baumgartner was a company member at the Tony Award-winning Denver Center Theatre Company.
