Chuck Stubbings

Chuck Stubbings most recently appeared at the Goodman in Big Love during the 2001/2002 Season. His most recent productions include Betty’s Summer Vacation (Roadworks), Romeo and Juliet (Chicago Shakespeare) and Baron in the Trees (Lookingglass). A Jeff Award-winning actor, director, writer and circus artist, Mr. Stubbings has been seen in productions with Roadworks, Lookingglass, Steppenwolf, Court The­atre, Chicago Shakespeare, Lyric Opera of Chicago and many more. He wrote and directed Bud and Lou, which premiered at the Theater Building last season. He has also worked with the Ringling Brothers Circus, Big Apple Circus and the Midnight Circus as a fire breather, trapeze catcher and acrobat. Mr. Stub­bings is a resident clown doctor at University of Chicago Children’s Hospital and LaRabida Children’s Hospital. He is a teacher and resident artist at the Actors Gymnasium and is part of the comic team The Bumblinni Brothers. His television work includes Early Edition, The Late Show With David Letterman, MTV’s Road Rules and Good Morning America.
